Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana, Chapter 1 planted 11,000 American flags on the front lawn of the Louisiana State Capitol in observance of Memorial Day. The flags represent all of the Louisiana military personnel who have died in wars from the Revolutionary War through Afghanistan.

Palmetto House is a vacation rental property hidden in the woods on the banks of Bayou Fountain in Baton Rouge.  Despite being just a couple of minutes from the busy Highland Rd & I-10 corridor, you feel like you are completely secluded when you are here.  The cabin comes with a swing, a fire pit, a canoe, and a couple of balconies where you can sit and watch the water.

Baton Rouge had a severe weather alert on April 27, 2015 with tornado warnings and flash flood watches.  I positioned myself under the cover of the Capitol Park Museum and photographed lightning strikes around the Louisiana State Capitol.

The Shaw Center for the Arts celebrated it's 10th anniversary this month, so I thought it fitting to include it in one of my downtown shots.  The old Baton Rouge Water Company water tower is in the center, the Hilton Baton Rouge Capital Center is on the left, and the Shaw Center is on the right.
