Oregon Coast Landscapes
I visited Oregon to explore the coast and do some landscape photography in a new environment. These pictures from Cape Kiwanda, Ecola State Park, Hug Point State Park, and Oswald West State Park are just a sample of what I photographed during 750 miles of driving and 25 miles of hiking during a three day trip. LSU Tiger Stadium Blue Light Tribute
LSU Tiger Stadium is lit in blue light to honor local law enforcement officers with the Baton Rouge City Police and East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office who were killed in the line of duty on July 17, 2016.
Capitol Lake Sunset
Sunset on Capitol Lake in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This spot on the lake is adjacent to Arsenal Park and the Louisiana State Capitol with a view of the Claiborne state office building and the Louisiana Court of Appeal, First Circuit.
Pump Station 59
Pump Station 59 sits under the Mississippi River Bridge on the corner of River Rd and South Blvd in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This mural is wall #40 from the Walls Project. The catfish painting comes from the area's nickname of "Catfish Banks".
Baton Rouge Fireworks Display
Pictures from the July 4, 2016 fireworks display in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The most popular seat for this show is on the Mississippi River levee, but I opted for a more secluded area where I knew I could still get a couple of nice pictures. I watched from Capitol Lake behind the Louisiana State Capitol.
The Advocate Corporate Headquarters
Corporate headquarters of The Advocate newspaper in Baton Rouge, Louisiana photographed for Remson|Haley|Herpin architects. The light fixtures and matching patterns on the floor shown in these pictures were one of the important design elements of the building.
The Village at Willow Grove
Remson|Haley|Herpin architects designed The Village at Willow Grove mixed use development on Perkins Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As of June 2016, the development consists of two completed buildings with a third building under construction and a fourth building planned for future construction. Buildings 1 and 2 at Willow Grove consist of commercial, retail, and residential spaces.
Memorial Day Flag Garden | Baton Rouge, Louisiana
11,000 American flags on the grounds of the Louisiana State Capitol. The Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana plant the flags every Memorial Day to remember the Louisiana soldiers who have died in war. This year's photograph was taken from the steps of the Capitol looking at the memorial and down Fourth Street.
