Charlie's Tree | Lake Maurepas, Louisiana | Landscape Photography
I've photographed Charlie's Tree in the past, but recently made another trip to Lake Maurepas and added a few new shots to my collection. My intention for this trip was to arrive before sunset, stay until after dark, then photograph some star trails streaking over the cypress trees. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and there was too much cloud cover to get decent shots of star trails. I still walked away with a nice sunset shot, a nice silhouette, and one shot with some star points (but not trails).
And here's a shot of me in the water right at the end of sunset. You can't see them in the frame, but there were two alligators in the water with me that were a little too close for comfort. I took the liberty of doing a bit of post processing, but the picture was taken by my friend Scott Schexnaydre.

New Orleans band Sweet Crude played at the Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge on May 31, 2014. According to their Twitter profile, the band is "half English, half Louisiana French, and half whiskey". I had never even heard of this band until just a few hours before the show started, but I listened to them on Rdio and liked what I heard, so decided to check them out in person.
Phoenix West II Condominiums | Orange Beach, Alabama | Architectural Photography
The Phoenix West II condominiums in Orange Beach, Alabama were recently completed and are now available for vacation rentals. I went to capture some interior views of one of the approximately 2,000 square foot units along with some landscape shots to give potential renters a feel for the units and the beaches in the area.

The old city dock is a well known spot in Baton Rouge. It's an eyesore for some and a great place to hang out for others, and it also happens to offer one of the best sunset views in the city. The dock is slowly falling apart on it's own, but that process will soon be sped up by development of the Water Campus research facility. I wanted to get back out there for what could be some of my last shots from this location. Enjoy the view!

Crawfish King Cook-Off 2014 | Baton Rouge, Louisiana | Event Photography
The Crawfish King Cook-Off took place in Downtown Baton Rouge as a fundraiser for Junior Achievement of Greater Baton Rouge & Acadiana and for the Big Buddy program. 40 corporate teams participated in the event and it certainly looked like several hundred people came out to eat. Orange Beach, Alabama
I spent a week in Orange Beach, Alabama photographing architecture and interiors for a private owner at the Phoenix West condominiums. I also hit the beach every day I was there to get some landscape, skyline, sunrise, and sunset shots for my own collection. All of these pictures are near the Phoenix West and Phoenix West II condominiums, or a little farther down the beach near Gulf State Park.

Newcomer's Guide to the Capitol Region
The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report and Creative Capital of the South publish the annual Newcomer's Guide to the Capital Region as a free resource to visitors and new residents, but it has some nice pictures and articles for long time residents also. "Baton Rouge Is Booming" in Delta Sky Magazine
Delta Sky Magazine profiles a different city every month for their in-flight magazine. Baton Rouge gets some attention in the March 2014 issue, and I shot the feature photo for the article. Check out the in-flight magazine if you are flying Delta this month, or click the picture to read the article on the magazine's website (may not work that well on mobile).
Repentance Park & St. Philip's Promenade
These are some of the images from a project I recently shot for landscape architects Reed Hilderbrand, LLC. The old sidewalks and fountains in this area of Downtown Baton Rouge were replaced with the newly designed Repentance Park. The purpose of the design was to create a usable public green space, to have that space unify the existing separate areas made up by the Louisiana Old State Capitol, the Baton Rouge River Center, City Hall, and Galvez Plaza & North Boulevard Town Square. The sidewalks and paths were put in place to create pedestrian friendly access from the downtown business area to the Mississippi River.
